Ammonium Phosphate Stocks Drop Sharply

According to the latest data provided by the American Fertilizer Institute, the stocks of ammonium phosphate in the United States declined in May. According to industry insiders, the sharp decline in the inventory of this traditional phosphorus fertilizer exporting country may lead to panicked advance purchases by importing countries, thus driving up the price of ammonium phosphate in the international market.

Due to the country's domestic demand and strong exports, the inventory of diammonium in the United States remained low in May, only 251,000 short tons, a decrease of 27% from the previous month and a decrease of 51% year-on-year. In May, diammonium production increased 6% from the previous month to 617,000 short tons, but consumption was 709,000 short tons, and the export volume decreased by 25% from the previous month to 443,000 short tons, but it was still normal. It is worth mentioning that the number of U.S. export destination countries has increased, of which exports to India are only 57,000 short tons; exports to Brazil are the largest, 133,000 short tons; exports to Mexico are very impressive, reaching 35,000 short tons . The export volume to Argentina was 54,000 short tons, the export volume to Peru was 27,000 short tons, and the export volume to Guatemala was 26,000 short tons.

In the United States, the amount of monoammonium inventories fell by 23% to 334,000 short tons in May. One of the reasons was that output fell by 12% to 378,000 short tons. Consumption fell by 8% qoq to 479,000 short tons. Exports to Canada increased by 195,000 short tons to 43,000 short tons, exports to Argentina were 48,000 short tons, exports to Brazil were 70,000 short tons, and exports to Colombia were 11,000 short tons.
