The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has agreed to revoke the application requirements for new shipper qualifications for Chinese wooden bedroom furniture manufacturer Rise Furniture Co., Ltd. Therefore, Rise will maintain a full Chinese customs tax rate of 216% of wooden bedroom furniture from January 1 to July 30, 2009. The new shipper qualification allows the company to export wooden bedroom furniture to the United States at a more favorable anti-dumping duty rate. In order to pass the review, the company must provide a comprehensive report analysis of the shipping activities for a given period of time. Rise Furniture filed a new shipper qualification application in July last year, and it decided to terminate the application in November of this year. The DOC usually stipulates that if the company wishes to withdraw the application, it needs to do so within 60 days from the date of application. However, its deadline was delayed in this case. Because as of now, Rise's bedroom furniture shipment qualification review has not actually invested too much manpower and resources.
