In one application, a cylindrical tight coil spring is used to precisely control the position and operation of the spool. Under the various constraints, in order to achieve the best economical, lightest weight, largest volume, longest life, maximum natural vibration frequency, etc., the structural parameters of the spring must be optimized. This paper uses the solution solving function in EXECEL2000 to optimize the calculation of an adjustment spring.
2 Introduction to Solver It is known that in the conventional design, the selection of some parameters often depends on the experience of the designer or the manufacturing conditions. This is usually a range. However, in this range, which value is chosen is very random and malleable, so it is difficult to ensure that the final design result is optimal.
By adopting the digital planning optimization method, under the certain requirements and constraints, the optimization program repeatedly calculates and compares to find a set of best results. Therefore, the essence of planning and solving is to reduce the subjective randomness of design through electronic computer and its calculation method, and greatly improve the accuracy of design results, so as to maximize the optimal design.
