Britain developed the world's first miniature intelligent inner ear drilling machine

The world's first miniature intelligent drilling machine was recently developed in Birmingham, England, for the transplantation of the cochlear (the inner ear's auditory receptor).
According to the "Alpha Galileo" science news website sponsored by the British Association for the Advancement of Science, this miniature intelligent drilling machine was developed by Peter Brett of Aston University in the United Kingdom. It does not require programming or is controlled by humans. Smart machine. It can drill holes of less than 1 mm in diameter at the exact position of the inner ear so that the transplanted cochlea can be inserted. When drilling, it can detect that its tip is close to the inner ear cartilage tissue, which can avoid drilling the inner eardrum.
The drill has been tested by David Prupus, an otolaryngologist at Aston University Hospital, in three patients who needed a cochlear implant and the results were successful.
Experts believe that this precise drilling method is not only expected to improve the hearing of patients undergoing cochlear implants, but also has great potential for other surgical operations.
