Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Standardization Technical Alliance Established

The China Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Standardization Technical Alliance, jointly initiated by 11 institutions including the China National Institute of Standardization, the National Energy Conservation Center, and the National Development and Reform Commission Training Center, recently held a launching ceremony in Beijing. The Alliance will carry out research on energy conservation and emission reduction standardization, and provide support for China's energy saving and emission reduction standardization policies and planning.

At present, China still lacks long-term measures for energy-saving and emission-reduction standardization, leading-edge energy-saving and emission-reduction standards, and lack of assessment standards for energy-saving and emission-reduction. The phenomenon of incoordination with the current energy-saving and emission-reduction work cannot cope with the "carbon tariff" system to be established by the developed countries and the requirements for energy conservation and emission reduction in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" in China. In particular, the developed countries and some international organizations have begun to promote the application of energy-saving emission reduction technologies and standards in China, and have begun to take the market scale, and put forward higher requirements for China's energy-saving emission reduction standardization work.

China's Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Standardization Technology Alliance will give full play to the role of research institutions, universities, industry associations, certification bodies, and other levels to build leading alliance standards, establish a standardized energy-saving emission reduction technology innovation system, and improve China's energy-saving emission reduction standards.
