It can be seen from the calculation of this example that the thickness of the end plate makes the bolt appear relatively weak, the plasticity of the end plate and the beam flange and the web are not fully utilized, and the energy consumption performance of the joint is low, which is not conducive to the seismic resistance of the joint, so it may be considered appropriate. It may be more reasonable to reduce the thickness of the end plates by using the node form of the high-strength bolt-extended end plates.
