Recently, it was learned from Xiamen Dongdu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that in the first quarter, Xiamen Port accepted a total of 4,766 batches of imported stone, 143,518.72 tons and 264,468,300 US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 18.08%, 20.37%, and 20.83%, respectively.

It is reported that the decline in the total amount of imported stone at Xiamen Port is mainly due to the continuous decline of the economy. Imported stone used for construction and decoration materials is insufficient due to downstream consumption, resulting in serious inventory hoarding. At the same time, Xiamen has always been the country with the largest amount of stone imports. However, due to the scattered demand for domestic stone, in recent years, in order to reduce the logistics cost, some stone processing and production enterprises have moved northward, and the imported stone ports have moved northward, resulting in a decline in the import volume of Xiamen ports.
